Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ Review

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ arrives as a strong contender in the budget-tablet space, delivering an 11-inch screen with upgraded features over its predecessor. The display is 1920 × 1200 in resolution and supports a 90 Hz refresh rate — offering noticeably smoother scrolling and animation compared to many entry-level tablets.

The tablet is powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset, which brings sufficient performance for everyday streaming, web browsing and light gaming.

Storage and memory options top out at 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage (with micro-SD expansion up to 1 TB).

Design-wise, it maintains a slim profile (6.9 mm thick) and weighs around 480 g (WiFi version) — respectable for an 11" slate.

Samsung retains a 3.5 mm headphone jack, quad-speaker audio with Dolby Atmos support and a metal-body aesthetic, which elevates the feel above ultra-budget tablets.

Software longevity is also a highlight: Samsung promises multiple years of Android version and security updates for this model, which adds to its value.

In use, the Galaxy Tab A9+ excels at media consumption — the large 11" screen and good speakers make it comfortable for watching shows, reading, and light multitasking. The 90 Hz refresh makes navigating the OS feel fluid. For productivity, you can split the display into up to three windows, enhancing multitasking abilities on the larger screen.

Pros:
- Large 11" display with smooth 90 Hz refresh — excellent for media and general use
- Quad-speakers + Dolby Atmos and headphone jack — strong audio flexibility
- Good value, with respectable specs (Snapdragon 695, decent memory/storage, micro-SD)
- Long software update support — more future-proof than many budget tablets

Cons:
- Slow charging (15 W wired only) — not ideal if you frequently top up
- No fingerprint sensor — a little surprising at this price point
- Modest cameras — fine for video calls or casual snaps, not for quality photography
- Not designed for heavy gaming or high-performance tasks — the chipset is mid-tier
